Rub the Right Way - Champi! Mallis!

MASSAGING WITH THE INPUTS FROM A PROFESSIONAL LICENSED MASSAGE THERAPIST IS A SIMPLE SELF-HELP TOOL THAT EMPOWERS YOU TO ADD VALUE TO YOUR HEALTH!

Ø Champissage or Indian head massage has been used in India for centuries. It is not just simple Smear, Stroke, Pressure, Knead, Rolling type movement or Rub on the head, shoulders, arms, and neck! It combines Massage with the more subtle form of chakra balancing.

Ø "Champi" comes from Sanskrit/Hindi word "champā" the flowers of the plant Michelia champaca which have traditionally been used to make fragrant hair-oil - Champanu Tel".

Ø Massage is the treatment and practice of manipulation of the soft body tissues with physical, functional, therapeutic, and in some cases psychological purposes and goals.

Ø Target tissues may include muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin, joints, or other connective tissue, as well as lymphatic vessels, and/or organs of the gastrointestinal system.

Ø Massage can be applied with the hands, fingers, elbows, forearm, and feet or with mechanical aids.

Ø The benefits of massage include pain relief, reduced trait anxiety and depression, and temporarily reduced blood pressure, heart rate, and state anxiety. The Theory is that massage induces blocking of pain signals to the brain, activating the parasympathetic nervous system which may stimulate the release of endorphins and serotonin, thus preventing fibrosis or scar tissue and increasing the flow of lymph, and improving sleep. But these are not scientifically proven or backed up by clinical research.

Ø In professional settings, massage involves the client being treated while lying on a massage table, sitting upright in a massage chair, or lying on a pad on the floor. The massagee is generally partially disrobed, and his body would be "draped" with towels or sheets.

Ø Many different types of oils can be used including fractionated coconut oil, grape seed oil, macadamia oil, sesame oil, pecan oil, and mustard oil. Arnica, from the flowers or leaves of the Arnica montana. Often uses olive oil as a base when used medicinally, or almond oil when used as a massage oil.

Ø Deep tissue techniques are generally designed for more focused massage work. Working a specific joint, muscle or muscle group, the practitioner can access deeper layers of the soft tissue. Starting superficially and easing into the depth of the muscle slowly often allows more movement. If the pressure is applied too deeply or too quickly, the muscle may tighten to protect that area, and unnecessary damage or inflammation can be induced. Very little lubricant is used as the pressure doesn't travel much over the skin. The most commonly used 'tools' during deep tissue massage may include, 3 and 6 fingers, reinforced fingers, knuckles, a flat elbow, opposing thumbs, the heel of the hand or foot, and the forearm.

Ø Heated stones were used by Egyptians, Native Americans for massage. Smooth hot or cold stones, usually basalt or marble, are used to massage the body. When heated stones are used muscles relax allowing the massage therapist to work deeper into the muscle. Energy medicine is sometimes incorporated into stone massage. Stones are heated in hot water and are placed under the back, along both sides of the spine, and on top of the torso and are believed to heat the chakra or meridians centers. Heated stones coated in oil are then used directly in the hands of the therapist delivering various massaging strokes.

Teeth and Tongue - The Diggers

Fast a day a week. Live only on juices. It's a simple remedy to purify blood and keep body free from diseases by allowing the body to eliminate all accumulated poisonous toxins.

Only 30-40% of over-eat is enough for us to survive. The balance 60-70% helps doctors to survive. We dig our own graves with our own teeth and tongue.

To be healthy and fit, one must live in a state of perpetual light hunger.

EATING IS MAKING BLOOD. EXERCISING IS DISTRIBUTING BLOOD. BREATHING IS PURIFYING BLOOD.

OVER-EATING

1. Imposes strain on Liver
2. Harms Digestive system
3. Hurts the stomach
4. Causes obesity
5. Causes toxicity
6. Increases work-loads of heart, liver, kidneys.
7. Disturbs lung rhythm

Food - Acid Forming?

The body has a pH balance ... just like you have to balance the water in your fish tank. Anyone whoever had a fish tank knows that the water has to be kept at 7 pH or you lose your fish.

0 pH is absolute acid - 14 pH is absolute alkaline - 7 pH is neutral

The blood in the body is actually 7.35 to 7.40 pH.

Coffee and tea are pure acid. So, the body retains water in the body to counteract the acidity ... which makes you gain weight.

Drinks like tea or soda will taste sweet with sugar or even worse with the chemicals that taste like fake sugar. Sodas contain phosphoric acid, malic acid, carbonic acid, and erythorbic acid. Not to mention that a lot of sodas have caffeine.

White sugar ferments in the body and forms acetic acid, carbonic acid and alcohol.

The key to good health is to keep the body pH at neutral or as close as possible

Acidic and basic are two extremes that describe chemicals, just like hot and cold are two extremes that describe temperature. The pH scale measures how acidic or basic a substance is. It ranges from 0 to 14. A pH of 7 is neutral. A pH less than 7 is acidic, and a pH greater than 7 is basic. Each whole pH value below 7 is ten times more acidic than the next higher value. For example, a pH of 4 is ten times more acidic than a pH of 5 and 100 times (10 times 10) more acidic than a pH of 6. So also for values above 7.

Sodium Hydroxide       pH  14

Blood                           pH  7.4

Pure Water                 pH 7

HCL Acid                     pH  0

Even at Sixty, You can Laugh at an Oldie at Forty

It is said that the hospital is a place where patient's relatives come to meet with other relatives of the patient. And seven times out of ten, the patient is a Granny or Grand Pa with broken bones!

Falls are the most common cause of broken bones for people with advancing age. And yet we fail to install relatively simple devices in the house which can make life a bit less miserable and more independent for the older adults; Which can also help those with conditions such as arthritis whereby they face mobility problems to get around!

Well, everybody may not end up with arthritis or in a wheelchair, but everybody does end up with certain faculties on the decline. So why not install few devices which can provide them comfort, emotional security, safety and independence   with self-confidence a bit or more enhanced to move around without fear. And without a fall!

Yes, some simple and minor changes will have a major impact on the quality of their lives. To help them to age gracefully and with dignity!

 .

Here are a few devices : U may add more!

1)    Double-faced adhesive carpet tape or rubber matting applied to the backs of rugs to prevent tripping over rugs.

2)    Changes in floor levels to be clearly marked with white or reflecting tape.

3)    Add a second handrail to the staircase, a light switch at both the bottom and the top of the stairs, and nonslip – nonskid strips.

4)    Add grab bars in the bathroom on the wall adjacent to the toilet and in the tub or shower.

5)    Textured strips applied to bathro om floors and to the bottoms of tubs and showers to help prevent falls on soapy tile or porcelain surfaces which are slippery.

6)    Use a shower chair with rubber feet.

7)    Knob-type faucet or tub hardware should be replaced with single-lever faucets, which to be easily operated by arthritic hands .

8)    To use lightweight cookware, nonslip bowls, thicker, padded-handle utensils and molded glassware to make eating and drinki ng easier.

9)    Narrow doorways pose a problem for senior citizens who use walkers or wheelchairs. Removal of a door can often provide the needed clearance. If this isn't feasible, "swing-clear" hinges can enlarge a door opening nearly two inches. Lever l atches instead of standard doorknobs alleviate the problem arthritics have with gripping or twisting. Likewise, slide bolts are easier to operate than deadbolts and provide nearly the same security.

10)  Because it takes older people longer to focus vision w hen moving between light and dark areas, light levels should be kept consistent in bedrooms and hallways, and night lights should be used.

11) Contrast the colours of the walls from the colour of the floors from the colours of steps

PEOPLE HEAL MORE QUICKLY AT HOME THAN IN AN INSTITUTION!

Age is a state of mind, Age cannot wither.

We are as young as our faith and hope.

May our mind remain further engaged

Into mental and spiritual exercises!

Many a man then stay young at Sixties

Laughing at the old folks at Thirties.
