President Franklyn Roosevelt who had lost use of his legs from polio was able to build upper body strength from daily swimming the white house pool. That helped him easily from wheelchair to wheel.

John Kennedy who suffered from chronic back pains also benefited from swimming in the W H Pool coz warm water soothed his back.

Jimmy Carter ran regularly 7 Kms a day.

General Ford worked with weights- an activity Ronald Reagan used to keep in shape.

Theodore Roosevelt used to take his cabinet colleagues on long exhausting hikes. He trained 3 times a week with 2 Japanese wrestlers.

Harry Truman walked 3 Kms every morning at hundred and 20 steps a minute.

John Adams walked by the light of the moon or stars 6 Kms, returning home in time to see sunrise from eastern chamber of White House.

No wonder, the Presidents had lasting staying power!

The Scary Parkinson's

AN AILMENT IS AN OPPORTUNITY
ONE MUST GRAB TO CHANGE ONE'S LIFE STYLE.

THE SCARY PARKINSON’S

Parkinson's disease is a degenerative condition affecting movement and balance in an ageing person.

Dopamine is the neurotransmitter critical to relaying brain messages that control both balance and movement.

Too much or too little iron intake may have a significant impact on the brain, increasing the risk of Parkinson's disease.

A new animal study confirms that both iron deficiency and toxicity are linked to the specific genes and neuronal suicide that lead to dopamine shortages responsible for development of Parkinson's, says researcher Cathy Levenson from Florida State University.

"The mouse is a good model for humans as it produces dopamine in the same way as the human brain," Levenson told NutraIngredients.com. What this shows us is that iron deficiency is not only linked to anemia and fatigue, but also a problem for the brain and risk for Parkinson's. This has not been recognized until now," she added.

Dopamine levels fall as the brain cells or neurons responsible for transporting it begin to 'commit suicide' at higher-than normal-rates, triggering the chain of events that eventually precipitates the onset of Parkinson's disease.

Researchers reported last year that high intake of iron, especially in combination with high manganese intake, may be related to risk for Parkinson's disease.

Levenson said her findings show that people should not self-prescribe iron supplements but should wait until a doctor notifies them of a deficiency.

"I'd be nervous about just handing someone iron supplement...Self-medicating may have unintended consequences," she said.

A Loaded Pistol within which Never Fires

In the midst of all hustle and bustle of daily fast life with multifarious activities and obligations, the blockages in the subconscious make it difficult for us to put aside even 10-20 minutes for spiritual practice. A 50% blockage in the main coronary artery supplying blood > nutrition to the heart triggers a panic with a rush to the Cardiologist. However 100% blockage in the artery supplying nutrition to the subconscious does not flutter even a fly and remains ignored and overlooked for years together irrespective of it causing spiritual death.

Spiritual practice is difficult, of course, but is made still more so by the fact that we often don't know how to establish the right inner attitude. In our unconscious, in our subconscious, there's something that blocks us and stops us from getting corrected to find harmonious rhythm amid body, mind, heart and soul.

We simply do not have customs and practices in place from our childhood to grow with an intuitive divine belief that our academic, social, emotional, professional obligations that take away 95% of our time will be far more facilitated towards successful exploits if we can spare just 5% of our time to seek inner light.
